Compassion Care for Veterans

About Veteran Services

The Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Healthcare Program provides eligible veterans with in-home care services to help them maintain independence and improve their quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own homes. Through programs like Homemaker and Home Health Aide Services and VA Community Care, the VA partners with approved home care agencies—such as Spooner Synergy Home Healthcare Services—to deliver assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, meal preparation, medication reminders, and more. To qualify, veterans must be enrolled in the VA healthcare system and meet specific clinical and financial criteria. A VA social worker or primary care provider typically assesses the veteran’s needs and initiates the referral for services. Once approved, care is coordinated between the VA and the home healthcare agency, and costs are typically covered by the VA with little to no out-of-pocket expenses for the veteran.
